5 Android Word Games you Need to Play

Do you like word games? Well there has never been a better time to do so. With all of the different apps and games available, playing and enjoying word games is easier than ever. Here is a list of some of the best.

Word Crush: Hidden Words!

word crush

This is another simple game to find words.  However, Word Crush is a bit different as well.  You are provided with a table of letters with a couple of words encoded.  Your goal is to find those words and use all of the letters.  The less attempts made to do this, the better. The initial levels will appear to be too easy.  It can actually get very annoying when each level is so easy.  However, the complexity continues to grow, slowly but surely, which makes the game much more exciting and enjoyable to play.

4 Pics 1 Word

If the entire Android word game world is something brand new for you, then it may be a good idea for you to get started with some easy games, such as ‘4 Pics 1 Word.’  The game play for this game provides you with 4 pictures and you are asked to figure out what similarities they have.  Underneath the set of pictures, there are jumbled letters displayed.  Arrange those into something that may relate to things that the pictures share in common.

It is free to download this word game.  If there are any drawbacks to the game, it may be that there is no social integration at all.  In, there isn’t even a multiplayer mode available.

Words With Friends

Although you may not know this, Words With Friends was developed by Newtoy, which is one of the leading names in the industry.  The company was acquired by Zynga and merged with that company, and its current name is Zynga With Friends.  When it comes to gameplay, it is practically identical with Scrabble. It’s a case of making words from scrambled letters – you could use a tool like UnscrambleX but that may be a little unfair on other players.

To play the game players take turns, attempting to arrange the letters that you have on hand in order to make words with the highest scores.

Wordfeud

This word game is played with other players.  It can either be played with a random player or with one of your Facebook friends.  You are provided with seven letters at the beginning of the game.  Your purpose is to obtain as many points as you possibly can by using the most complex letters and/or making up the most complex words.  It can be very difficult to do, especially when you have letters that seem unusable at first.  The really cool part of the game is you to build words using the ones that you and your opponent have made previously.

Scandinavian is the language presented in the game.  However, there is also English, so you don’t have to worry if you don’t speak Swedish, Dutch, or Finnish.  The boring part of the game is you have to wait while your opponent is making their move, but there is a way to avoid this problem if you are playing with a friend.  This game allows you to play as many as 30 games simultaneously, so that makes it not so bad having to wait.

Wordathon: Classic Word Search

This is a really engaging app that will keep you attached to your phone for a very long time!  It is a simple game – you just need to connect letters that are provided in a square to form words.  At first, you will be surprised at how hard it can be to form lots of words (the bottom of your screen will show how many possible words can be formed), but you will get used to this and master the art of finding words.

Once the game is over, you will be able to see which words you missed, and that can be very handy, particularly if you were wanting to expand your vocabulary. The game has a vocabulary embedded into it, which makes it possible for you to look up the meaning of a word without having to leave the app.  In addition there are ratings of individuals who have discovered the highest number of words and various challenge levels and kinds of puzzles that you can solve.  These are all waiting for you.  So get the app so you can start to do them!
